Galapago Duplex Project Moves Quickly in Englewood

Progress is moving quickly on Galapago as Invalesco Development continues to execute its vision for thoughtful, design-forward urban infill in Englewood. Construction is underway on another duplex, adding momentum to a larger block-wide plan that now includes four completed homes, two currently under construction, and two more planned for the future.

Located on a prominent corner lot, this duplex is designed with flexibility and livability in mind, offering just under 1,950 square feet per residence. Each home features a distinct floor plan tailored to different lifestyles—one with three bedrooms and the other designed around two primary suites—allowing for adaptability as needs change over time.

Architecturally, the project balances clean modern lines with warm material contrast. Stepped massing gives each residence its own identity, while a palette of light stucco, vertical siding, and wood screening adds texture, privacy, and visual warmth. Upper-level horizontal windows are carefully placed to maximize natural light while maintaining privacy, resulting in a contemporary infill design that feels intentional and well integrated into the surrounding neighborhood.

The project is being built by Northland Construction and designed by Affect Architecture. After breaking ground in December, the homes have already reached the framing stage, with an estimated completion timeline of mid-June.

Invalesco has been actively involved in residential and mixed-use projects in Englewood since 2013. Led by Gilda Zaragoza, the firm has maintained a long-term focus on context-sensitive development that strengthens neighborhoods while increasing housing opportunities. The Galapago project reflects this approach—prioritizing quality design, efficient use of land, and homes that contribute meaningfully to the fabric of the community.

Galapago is one of several projects currently in Invalesco’s pipeline, signaling continued investment in Englewood and surrounding neighborhoods through smart urban infill and incremental density done well.

Additional updates will be shared as construction continues.
